Take your turn bellying-up to the antique Brunswick bar built in 1894, ordered from a catalog, shipped from Austria around the horn of Africa to San Francisco, CA, and then to Prescott, AZ on a mule train. As a drinking establishment since 1905, and a “pharmacy” during the prohibition, Lyzzards has some great stories, and some even say it’s haunted.
This historic bar just a block off of Whiskey Row was the perfect match for now owner Lex Guinn, when he chose to leave his 40-year career in healthcare administration in Houston and purchased a bar in Prescott. In 2008, Lex renovated and expanded the space for his “great mix of clientele” which he proudly shares includes veterans and college students amongst the businessmen and retirees.
It’s been nothing but a pleasure on our end. The customers love it. Before,no one knew what was on draft and bottles unless they came down. It’s been a great time savings and is getting our social media jump started.
Part of keeping his clientele coming back is his 28 different craft beer selections on tap, and another 35 beers in a bottle. To keep the clients informed, Lex’s team used a lit-up dry erase board with a list of all their beers. Feeling that they were tacky, Lex asked Bar Manager Adam Mendenhall to find a better solution. He chose the TapHunter Digital Drink Menus with social integration. “It’s been nothing but a pleasure on our end. The customers love it. Before, no one knew what was on draft and bottles unless they came down. It’s been a great time-savings and is getting our social media jump started.” The time savings is helping Lyzzards now rotate their tap selections, and promote their events through social media and the digital board. “It’s exceeded our expectations.”
